In this clinical trial, healthy, overweight adults were given three capsules of Lean System 7 twice daily or an identical placebo and followed a calorie restricted diet and an exercise program for eight weeks. Body weight, body mass index (BMI), basal metabolic rate (BMR), waist and hip circumference, and body fat and lean tissue composition by DEXA were measured at baseline and week 8.

A prospective, randomized, double blind study to evaluate the effect of Lean System 7?? on body composition

Objective: This study evaluated the effect of a formula containing 7-oxo-DHEA, citrus aurantium extract, coleus forskohlii extract, yerba mate, guarana extract, piper nigrumand dandelion leaf (Lean System 7??) on body composition, in overweight subjects. Methods: In this clinical trial, healthy, overweight adults were given three capsulesof Lean System 7 orally twice daily or an identical placebo and followed a calorie restricted diet and an exercise program for eight weeks. Bodyweight, BMI, BMR, waist and hip circumference, and body composition by DEXA were measured at baseline and week 8. Results: Of 47 adults enrolled, 35 completed the study with a mean BMI of 32.5 kg/m??. Subjects taking Lean System 7had a more significant (p=0.006) decrease in hip circumference measurement losing 4.85 cm compared to a decrease of 2.34 cm in the placebo group. The intra-group analysis of the Lean System 7 group also revealed statistically significant (p=0.001) reductions in body weight, BMI, waist and hip circumference. There were no other statistically significant differences noted. Lean System 7 was well tolerated and there were no serious adverse events.

Conclusion: The results of this study reveal that when combined with a reduced calorie diet and a moderate exercise program, Lean System 7 was more effective at reducing hip circumference than exercise and diet alone.
